Buon martedì a tutti! Oggi voglio raccontarvi della mostra Paganini Rockstar, attualmente in corso al Palazzo Ducale di Genova. Ho approfittato di un giorno libero dal lavoro per visitare con calma la mostra e l’esposizione dedicata al violinista ligure, che voleva condurre un confronto con il chitarrista rock Jimi Hendrix. Di per se’ l’argomento era molto interessante, sebbene mi aspettavo un confronto più dettagliato tra i due artisti. Infatti, la mostra sembra quasi divisa in due parti distinte, prima approfondendo vita, opere e peculiarità del violinista Paganini e, solo alla fine della mostra, raccontando le esperienze e l’influenza del rocker americano. Entrando alla mostra, si può prendere nota di un excursus sulle tappe fondamentali della vita di Paganini: la precocità nell’iniziare a suonare il violino, le caratteristiche principali della sua musica e la crescente popolarità sui palcoscenici italiani ed esteri. Paganini è principalmente noto come violinista, ma si può apprendere con sorpresa che fu anche un eccellente chitarrista – avendo creato opere moderne e appartenenti ad un rock embrionale anche con questo strumento. In questo frangente, viene sottolineata l’avanguardia nell’approccio alla materia di entrambi i musicisti – riconoscendone la stravaganza e il successo, di notorietà e di incassi, che registrava ogni loro concerto. Nella stanza successiva, a tal proposito, si possono osservare i registri di spese ed incassi per ogni tappa dei concerti – che Paganini teneva minuziosamente. Come ogni rocker che si rispetti, anche Paganini ebbe storie d’amore turbolente e fu anche arrestato per una liaison con l’allora minorenne Angelina Cavanna. La tournee’ di Paganini interessava sia le principali città italiane, sia le capitali europee e si può senz’altro dire che abbiano fruttato degli introiti milionari – se paragonati al corrispettivo monetario in euro, ai giorni nostri. La visita prevede anche del materiale audiovisivo, con spiegazioni mirate di noti critici musicali e di performer italiani quali Morgan, Ivano Fossati e Gianna Nannini ed una rappresentazione di danza del ballerino Roberto Bolle. Al termine del percorso guidato troviamo (finalmente, aggiungo!) la sezione dedicata a Jimi Hendrix, a mio avviso troppo limitata e circoscritta alla fine della mostra. In un maxischermo si può vedere l’ormai celebre scena di Hendrix che da fuoco alla sua Fender sul palco, in preda all’estasi da palcoscenico – a dimostrazione dell’enfasi che accomuna i rockers e i loro predecessori, come nel caso specifico Paganini. La chiosa della mostra è rappresentata dall’esposizione del “Cannone” di Paganini (il suo storico violino) e da un frammento della chitarra bruciata sul palco da Jimi Hendrix. Nel complesso ho trovato la mostra interessante, sebbene in alcuni passaggi non abbia condiviso il metodo espositivo e i riferimenti utilizzati per raccontare l’argomento. Se passate da Genova nei prossimi giorni, tenetela a mente! Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I want to tell you about the Paganini Rockstar exhibition, currently taking place at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa. I took advantage of a day off from work to visit the exhibition dedicated to the Ligurian violinist, intended also to make a comparison with the rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix. The topic itself was very interesting, although I expected a more detailed comparison between the two artists. Actually, the exhibition seems divided into two distinct parts, first deepening life, works and peculiarities of the violinist Paganini and, only at the end of it, telling the experiences and the influence of the American rocker. Entering the exhibition, we could take an overview of the fundamental stages of Paganini's life: the precociousness in starting to play the violin, the main characteristics of his music and the growing popularity on the Italian and foreign stages. Paganini is mainly known as a violinist, but we could surprisingly learn that he was an excellent guitarist as well - having created modern works and belonging to an embryonic rock even with this instrument. At this juncture, the avant-garde in the approach to the matter of both musicians is underlined - recognizing their extravagance and success, of fame and earnings, which was recorded at each of their concert. Moving forward, you can see the records of expenses and income for each stage of the concerts - which Paganini meticulously kept. Like any self-respecting rocker, Paganini also had stories of turbulent love and was also arrested for a liaison with the then-minor aged Angelina Cavanna. Paganini's tour included both the main Italian cities and the European capitals and we can certainly say that they yielded millionaire income - compared to the euro money price nowadays. The visit also includes audiovisual material, with specific explanations of well-known music critics and Italian performers such as Morgan, Ivano Fossati and Gianna Nannini and a dance performance by the dancer Roberto Bolle. At the end of the guided tour we find (finally, I add!) The section dedicated to Jimi Hendrix, in my opinion too limited and circumscribed. In a giant screen you can see the now famous scene of Hendrix firing on his Fender on stage, prey to the ecstasy of the moment - showing the emphasis that unites rockers and their predecessors, as in the specific case Paganini. The show is ended by the exhibition of the "Cannone" of Paganini (his historic violin) and a fragment of the guitar burnt on stage by Jimi Hendrix. Overall I found the exhibition interesting, although in some passages did not share the method and the references used to carry on the topic. If you go from Genoa in the next days, keep it in mind! На этом этапе авангард в подходе к делу обоих музыкантов подчеркивается - признавая их экстравагантность и успех, известность и коллекцию, которые записывали каждый их концерт. В этой связи вы можете увидеть записи расходов и доходов для каждой стадии концертов, которые Паганини тщательно хранил. Как и у любого уважающего себя рокера, у Паганини также были истории бурной любви, и его также арестовали за связь с тогдашней несовершеннолетней Анжелиной Каванной. Тур Паганини заинтересовал как главные итальянские города, так и европейские столицы, и можно с уверенностью сказать, что они принесли доход миллионерам - по сравнению с ценой в евро на сегодняшний день.
